🌸 Projects817 Return, Exchange & Cancellation Policy

Updated October 8th, 2025 — effective immediately for orders placed after this date

Every Projects817 piece is handmade to order, not mass-produced. That means every stitch, sole, and seam is created just for you 💫. Because of this, our policies are designed to stay fair to both you and our makers, while supporting a thoughtful, slow-fashion process.


🛑 Cancellations & Order Changes

Please choose carefully before checking out. Once your order is placed, it moves quickly into processing and production, and we pay our makers almost immediately to begin crafting your item(s).

For this reason, we can’t cancel or modify orders once payment to our manufacturers has been made. The only exception is correcting shipping-address errors, and only if you contact us immediately.

If you notice an issue, email us as soon as possible at customerservice@projects817.com. If production hasn’t started yet, we may still be able to catch it in time.

🔁 Free Size Exchange (One Per Customer)

We want you to love the fit. That’s why we offer one complimentary size exchange per customer on full-price purchases.

How it works:

  1. ⏰ Contact us within 7 days of your order being marked delivered.
  2. 📦 We’ll email you detailed exchange instructions.
  3. 👟 Once your item is returned and confirmed in original, unworn condition, we’ll process your new size and send tracking details.

Please note:

  • Applies only to full-price items.
  • Sale, discounted, or promo-code purchases are final sale. “Discounted” includes any sale, promotion, or influencer code applied at checkout.
  • You’re responsible for the return shipping.
  • We cover the replacement item and standard shipping for the exchange.
  • Exchanges must be initiated within 7 days and postmarked within 14 days of delivery.
  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, in their original packaging, and securely packaged for transit.
  • Upgraded shipping from your original order is non-refundable.

💖 Love It or Your Money Back

We’re confident you’ll love your Projects817 pieces — but if something isn’t right, no hard feelings.

If you’d like to request a return, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. Once approved, we’ll email return instructions.

Approved returns must be postmarked within 14 days of the delivery date.

When your item arrives back in original, unworn condition, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method.

Please remember:

  • Valid on full-price purchases only.
  • Sale, discounted, or promo-code purchases are final sale.
  • You’re responsible for return shipping costs.
  • Refunds apply to the item price only; upgraded shipping is non-refundable.
  • Refunds typically process within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • Returns require approval — items sent without authorization can’t be accepted.

💥 Damaged or Defective Items

Quality matters to us. If your item arrives damaged or defective, contact us immediately at customerservice@projects817.com with photo proof.

Once confirmed, we’ll ship a replacement at no cost.

  • This covers the product itself, not cosmetic packaging damage.
  • Items damaged through wear, washing, or improper care aren’t eligible.
  • Clearance or “as-is” items sold with disclosed imperfections are final sale.
  • Color variation notice: Color and print appearance may vary slightly between materials due to texture and ink absorption. These variations are normal and are not considered a defect.

🔄 Wrong Item or Size Received

If we sent the wrong item or size, contact us and we’ll arrange a free exchange to correct it.

⏳ Shipping Delays

Shipping delays can happen and are unfortunately outside our control. We can’t issue refunds for delayed packages, but if an order is confirmed lost, we’ll send a replacement at no cost.

🚫 Non-Returnable Items

  • Gift cards
  • Clearance or discounted items
  • Used, worn, or washed products
  • Previously exchanged items

💬 Discount Codes

Discount codes must be applied at checkout. We can’t issue partial refunds if a code wasn’t used when placing your order.

⚖️ Fraudulent Chargebacks

We always encourage customers to contact us first if something feels off. Filing chargebacks for false reasons (such as shipping delays) will be disputed with supporting documentation.

In cases of confirmed fraud, customers may be banned from future purchases, and serious cases may be escalated further.
