🌸 Projects817 Return, Exchange & Cancellation Policy

Updated October 8th, 2025 — effective immediately for orders placed after this date

Every Projects817 piece is handmade to order, not mass-produced. That means every stitch, sole, and seam is created just for you 💫 — and because of that, we keep our policies fair to both you and our makers while staying true to slow-fashion values.


🛑 Cancellations & Order Changes

Please choose carefully before checking out! Once your order is placed, it heads straight into production — we pay our makers almost immediately to begin crafting your item(s).

That means we can’t cancel or modify orders once payment to our manufacturers has been made. The only exception is correcting shipping-address errors, and only if you contact us right away.

If you realize you’ve made a mistake, email us ASAP at customerservice@projects817.com — if production hasn’t started yet, we might still be able to catch it in time!

🔁 Free Size Exchange (One Per Customer)

We want you to love the fit! That’s why we offer one complimentary size exchange per customer on full-price purchases.

How it works:

  1. ⏰ Contact us within 7 days of your order being marked delivered (via our Contact Us page or email).
  2. 📦 We’ll email you exchange instructions.
  3. 👟 Once your item is back and confirmed in original, unworn condition, we’ll process your new size and send tracking details.

Please note:

  • Applies only to full-price items.
  • Sale, discounted, or promo-code purchases are final sale — no exchanges or refunds. “Discounted” includes any sale, promotion, or influencer code applied at checkout.
  • You cover the return shipping, but we cover the new size + standard shipping for your exchange.
  • Upgraded shipping from your original order is non-refundable.
  • Exchanges must be initiated within 7 days and postmarked within 14 days of delivery.
  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, in their original packaging, and securely wrapped for transit.

💖 Love It or Your Money Back

We’re confident you’ll adore your Projects817 pieces — but if you don’t, no hard feelings!

If you’re not happy with your purchase, contact us within 7 days of delivery to request a return. Once approved, we’ll send return instructions. When your item arrives back in original condition, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method.

Please remember:

  • Valid for full-price purchases only.
  • Sale, discounted, or promo-code purchases are final sale — choose with love and care (and maybe double-check your size 😉).
  • You’re responsible for return-shipping costs.
  • Refunds apply to the item price only — upgraded shipping is non-refundable.
  • Refunds typically process within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

💥 Damaged or Defective Items

Quality is everything to us. If your item arrives damaged or defective, contact us right away at customerservice@projects817.com with photo proof of the issue.

Once confirmed, we’ll ship you a replacement at no cost.

  • This policy covers the product itself, not packaging (we can’t replace boxes or bags scuffed during shipping).
  • Items damaged through wear, washing, or improper care aren’t eligible for return.
  • Clearance or “as-is” items sold with noted imperfections are final sale.

🔄 Wrong Item or Size Received

Oops — did we send the wrong item or size? Our bad! Just let us know via email or our contact page, and we’ll arrange a free exchange to fix it fast.

⏳ Shipping Delays

We wish we could hand-deliver every package ourselves, but global shipping delays can happen — and they’re out of our control.

We can’t offer refunds for packages delayed in transit, but if your order is confirmed lost, we’ll send a replacement at no charge.

🚫 Non-Returnable Items

  • Gift cards
  • Clearance or discounted items
  • Used, worn, or washed products
  • Exchanged items

💬 Discount Codes

Discount codes must be applied at checkout. We can’t issue partial refunds if a code wasn’t used when placing your order.

⚖️ Fraudulent Chargebacks (Let’s Keep It Honest)

We love our customers and always aim to make things right. Sadly, chargeback fraud (aka cyber shoplifting) has become a real issue for small brands.

Filing chargebacks for false reasons (like shipping delays) will be treated as fraud and disputed with evidence. If this happens, the customer will be permanently banned from future purchases, and in serious cases, a police report may be filed.

  • Contact us: within 7 days of delivery
  • Ship back: within 14 days of delivery
  • Condition: unused, clean, original packaging, no animal hair
  • Approval required: items sent without authorization can’t be accepted
